LONDON, May 11 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition at the Tate Britain gallery which opened on Wednesday gives an unusual insight into the lives of the British royal family in the late 19th century.

A rarely-seen private album in which members of royal family painstakingly re-enacted famous paintings and scenes from the theater is one of the star exhibits in the "Painting with Light" show at the central London gallery.

The album features pictures of several young princesses enjoying themselves, at the naval headquarters that was the home of their father, Prince Alfred Duke of Edinburgh.

The three grand-daughters -- Victoria Melita, Alexandra and Beatrice -- were all princesses and had plenty of spare time at the Plymouth Naval Base.

Scenes reenacted for the camera by the princesses include Sleeping Beauty, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and Hamlet. There are also tableaus of paintings famous at the time, such as Francesco Gronin's "At the Slave Market" and Marcus Stone's "Two's Company, Three's None."

The picture album is just one of several remarkable exhibits in the show, which traces the creative and technical interplay between photography and painting in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Exhibits include the earliest forms of color photography from the first decade of the 20th century using the auto-chrome process, and also of three-dimensional photography, which was a popular format among the Victorian middle classes.

The exhibition runs until Sept. 25.

CARACAS, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has unveiled an emergency energy-saving plan that includes a four-day workweek for civil servants to help cut electricity consumption.

Maduro announced the temporary 60-day plan late Wednesday during a weekly television program, indicating that a drought caused by this year's El Nino weather phenomenon has affected the nation's reservoirs, which generate nearly 70 percent of the country's electricity.

""Today we have launched a new phase of the eight-week plan to attend to the El Nino emergency,"" said Maduro.

According to a special government decree, all the Fridays in April and May will be considered off days.

The plan also calls on basic industries with high energy use to cut back on power consumption by some 20 percent, among other measures.

""I ask for the entire country's maximum cooperation,"" said Maduro. ""I'm absolutely sure that we are going to overcome this, with the smallest impact on Venezuelan families.""

The temporary four-day workweek plan was devised after Maduro gave workers a full week off in March during the Holy Week, which saved 400 megawatts of electricity and prevented reservoirs from dropping 22 centimeters, Venezuela's public television network VTV reported.

WELLINGTON Evander Kane Sharks Jersey , March 17 (Xinhua) -- Communities along the east coast of New Zealand's North Island were cleaning up Tuesday after being battered by Tropical Cyclone Pam, but one small island community was still under a state of emergency.

The residents of about 20 coastal homes in the Chatham Islands, a small group of islands about 750 km east of the South Island and home to about 600 people, had been told to evacuate, Radio New Zealand reported.

Winds had peaked at about 80 km an hour, with gusts of up to almost 110 km per hour early Tuesday.

Chatham Islands Mayor Alfred Preece said in the report that power was out to some households and some houses had suffered minor damage.

Civil Defense Minister Nikki Kaye told Radio New Zealand that the New Zealand Defense Force would be available to help out in the Chatham Islands if needed.

In the worst hit area of Gisborne on the North Island, residents and workers were out Tuesday clearing driftwood and debris off roads in coastal communities.

Gisborne Civil Defense manager, emergency management Richard Steele said some households were still without power Tuesday and five roads remained closed due to slips, rocks and debris.

Steele said in a statement that the highest rainfall was recorded at East Cape where close to 300 mm of rains fell from 8 p. m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

More than 100 people who had been evacuated as a precaution against inundation by the sea, flooding and slips were returning to their homes.

The number one thing in my opinion to think about whether you are playing the right sport or not is how much fun you are having at the sport. To be perfectly honest there are other factors such as costs and injuries to consider. These are hard economic times right now in the eyes of many. So, for example, if a child s parent losses their job, the child might not have the proper health care in case of injury on the football field.

Obviously everyone has skill limitations. If a child is unable to maintain the dribbling of a basketball without double dribbling this can grow frustrating for a child who is trying to play basketball. This is particularly true in a league where the referees are trying to teach the kids the rules of the game and thus have to call a lot of double dribbling and traveling violations. If your child gets frustrated by playing something with too many rules, maybe they can consider being a baseball umpire or a basketball referee instead. Therefore they are the one who enforce the rules.

There is the fact that some kids simply get winded quickly. This sort of thing truly limits their options in sports whether it be anything from soccer to most track and field events. If this is the case, there are medical steps that can be taken to ensure your child is able to play the sport of their choice. It is true that even kids with asthma are able to play most sports with great success as long as they are properly monitored.

Sometimes a child will get discouraged and begin to b.
